3) For Android 4.2 or newer: Enter "Settings" < Click "About Phone" < Tap "Build number" for several times until getting a note "You are under developer mode" < Back to "Settings" < Click "Developer options" < Check "USB debugging".

If you have enabled USB debugging already, you can skip the step. If not, you should do this first, otherwise, the software can't detect your HTC cell phone. After you have opened USB debugging, you can install the USB driver on your computer. Then the software will identify your device and display the primary parameter of your HTC cell phone on the window like this:

After that, you can see the HTC files on top of the menu, then, click "Music" folder and preview the details of the songs on the right panel. Then you can tick the songs and click "Export" and "Import" to save them on your computer or transfer them to HTC phone from PC.
