Methods to Enter or Exit DFU Mode for iOS Device Users
What Is DFU Mode?
DFU mode is short for Device Firmware Upgrade and means the mode that allows the iOS device to connect with iTunes without loading the operating system or boot loader. It can allow the Apple devices to be restored from any state and update or degrade the firmware compulsively. For example, if you want to degrade the operating system, jailbreak the iPhone or unlock the SIM, you may need to enter the DFU mode. And after that, you will need to exit the DFU mode. So here we provide you two guides to enter and exit DFU mode.
How to Enter DFU Mode?
Step 1. Connect the device to your computer and the iTunes will be launched automatically. If the iTunes does not start, just run the iTunes. Then select the device on iTunes.
Step 2. Turn off your iTunes like the picture shows.
Step 3. Press the Home button and Power button at the same time for a while.
Step 4. Then release the Power button but still hold the Home button. Then the iTunes will give you a messages that the iTunes has detected the recovery mode of iPhone. Then you can release the Home button.
How to Exit DFU Mode?
Step 1. Click the icon of iTunes on the computer desktop and launch the software.
Step 2. Use the USB cable to to connect your iOS device to computer. The iTunes will detect your device.
Step 3. Wait for a while and find your device on the iTunes. Note: You iOS device’s screen will be black if it is in the DFU mode.
Step 4. Press the Home and Sleep buttons at the same time for a while. Then release them.
Step 5. Tab on the Power button soon after that and your device will exit DFU mode.
