Three Ways to Factory Reset iPhone

You may need to factory reset your iPhone when your device is frozen, dead, infected by viruses or unresponsive completely. Because the factory resetting will enable you to get the device back to normal at once without hassle. Besides, it can also help you free up and speed up your device easily. Here we will provide to several methods to reset or factory reset your device.


Method 1. Reset A Frozen iPhone

You can just reset your frozen iPhone with the simple steps below first.

Step 1. Press the Power and Home button at the same time.

Step 2. Continue tap on the two buttons even after the screen goes black. Then you will see an Apple Logo on the screen.

Step 3. Finally, you need to wait for a while because the iPhone need some time to completely boot up. Then your iPhone will operate normally.

If your device remain frozen after the resetting unfortunately, then you need to hard reset your device, i.e. factory reset your iPhone.


Method 2. Factory Reset An iPhone

Preparation Works:

  1. As we know, the factory resetting will delete all the files in your iPhone. So you’d better make a backup of the iOS files on computer or you can also back up the files to iCloud. Hence you can recover the files to your device after the factory resetting.
  2. If your iPhone runs out of energy when you are resetting the iPhone, your device may meet some problems. So make sure your iPhone is 70% charged at least.

Step 1. Head to the Home screen and click on the Settings button > General tab.

Step 2. scroll down the page to the bottom and then click on the Reset button > Erase All Contents and Settings.

Step 3. Type the password of your restrictions and screen lock and then you are able to proceed with the reset.

Step 4. Just wait for a moment and the process will be finished soon. After that, your device can function just like the new iPhone.

Method 3. Restore the iPhone with iTunes

The preparation works are same to that in the last method.

1.Use a USB cable to connect the device to your computer and then start your iTunes. Then find your device on the iTunes and select the This Computer and then click on Back up Now.
2. Find your iPhone on the iTunes and then click on Restore iPhone option. Then confirm the window which ask you whether you want to erase everything on your iPhone or not. Just wait about 15-20 minutes.
