When you switch to a new iPhone, what will you do with your old device? Whether you sell it or give it to someone else, make sure to erase your personal data first. Simply deleting files is not enough, as some data can still be recovered with recovery tools. To protect your privacy, a professional eraser tool like MobiKin Eraser for iOS can help permanently wipe all data from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Attention: The data erased by this program will be unrecoverable, so please back up the important files on your device before you start the erasure.

(Note: If you installed iTunes through the Microsoft Store, remove that version first before installing the desktop version.)
Way 3. If the issue still exists, check this guide on how to fix an iDevice that cannot connect to a computer for more troubleshooting methods.

Part 2: How to Permanently Erase All Data from Your iPhone/iPad
Step 1. Click "Erase" to begin
After the connection, you can tap on "Erase" button on the interface. Then you may be asked to:
1) If the iTunes is launched on your computer, you will be prompted to close it for the reason that the data will be overwritten due to synchronization. So when you see an interface as below, please tap on "Close iTunes" to avoid data overwriting.

2) If the program detects that the "Find My iPhone" service is opened on your device, you will get the following interface. Please turn off the service on your iOS device by clicking "Settings" > "(your name)" > "iCloud" or "Settings" > "iCloud" and then tap on "Continue" to go on.

Step 2. Set the Security Level
After that, you can tap on "Medium", which would bring up the "Select Security Level" window.

When the "Set Security Level" window pops up, please tap on the level you want and hit "OK" to confirm your option.

On the "Erase All Data" interface, you can type in "delete" in the input box and tap on "Erase" button.

Step 3. Erase All Contents and Settings on your device
To ensure a more thorough erase and prevent potential data recovery, please reset your device using "Erase All Content and Settings" before moving on.
Situation 1: The device has NOT been reset yet
1. Choose "No, the device has not been reset." and click "Next" to continue.

2. Follow the instructions shown on the screen to reset your iOS device with the "Erase All Content and Settings" option. During this process, your device will restart and temporarily disconnect from the program. Please DO NOT exit the software, as doing so may interrupt the reset process.
After the restart is complete, finish the activation and setup steps, then unlock your device and connect it to the program again. (Failed to restart your device?)

3. After your device is detected again, click "Erase", select the security level you want to use, and enter "delete" in the confirmation field to verify the operation.

4. Now select "Yes, the device has been reset" to move forward. When the final confirmation window appears, click "OK" and then "Next" to begin.

Situation 2: The device HAS already been reset
Select "Yes, the device has been reset." When a confirmation message appears asking whether you want to permanently erase all data, click "OK" and then "Next" to proceed.

Step 4. Overwrite All iOS Data
After the reset is completed, the software will overwrite your device storage to ensure that erased data cannot be recovered.

Here, if you have selected low security level, you can set up the device after the restart. But if you have chosen medium security level before, the tool will go on to overwrite the data on your iOS device 1 time. For those who have elected the high security level, the program will overwrite the data 2 times.
When the erasure or overwriting ends, you will see an interface as below. That means the data on your device is completely and permanently removed and cannot be recovered by any tool.

Optional: Click "Save Report" if you want to export the erasure report to your computer. The report contains important details, including device information, selected security level, overwrite times, erasure status, and other related records.
